Welcome to My Personal Page
Welcome to my personal page, and thank you for supporting me as I run in honor of my husband who is living with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. His story is below and what he wanted to share with you all.
My journey with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) started a few years ago with shortness of breath. Some days it was a struggle to breathe, or I was always out of breath. My primary doctor ran a few rests and said my asthma was getting worse. Finally in the early part of 2020 my doctor sent me to see a pulmonologist/cardiologist.
After talking with the Pulmonologist and Cardiologist I was scheduled for a Echocardiogram in February, which the results were inconclusive. In March of 2020 I had a stress test. After those tests came back inconclusive I was scheduled for a right heart catheterization.
After the right heart Cath i was diagnosed with PAH. I had no idea what PAH was, so I really wasn't concerned about it. My wife went with me for the right heart Cath, and her working in the medical field knew what it was. After being told I had PAH I thought ok, give me some meds and back to work I will go.
I was immediately placed on medication for it, and my shortness of breath got better. PAH is a lifelong battle. It is life changing, There is no cure for it, all you can do is manage the symptoms.
I give my wife a lot of credit for helping me along the way with my fight with this disease. I am so blessed with the support of family and friends who help me fight with the depression and anger that comes along with the disease.
Thank you all for letting me share my story with all of you and supporting my wife as she runs for PAH.
